EPSA 2019 Final events and Award Ceremony, Maastricht, 4-6 November 2019

27 September 2019

Dear EPSA Friends,

The EPSA 2019 edition is now in its final stage and the EPSA Team are working intensively to prepare for the Final events and Award Ceremony that will take place in Maastricht on 4-6 November.

These events are spread over three days as follows:

Monday, 4 November

18.00-22.00 Best Practice Certificates Award Ceremony at the historic Town Hall of Maastricht where the Mayor of Maastricht will hand over the certificates, followed by a walking dinner.

Tuesday, 5 November

09.00-17.00  Presentations of the EPSA 2019 Nominees at the European Institute of Public Administration.

20.00-22.30 Festive Dinner

Wednesday, 6 November

09.00-14.00   Award ceremony at the Provincial Government House in Maastricht, where the Governor of Limburg will also welcome the audience and deliver a speech in the room where the Treaty of Maastricht was signed. After the official speeches and the coffee break, the actual award ceremony will take place during which the winners (1 in each administrative category) will be announced.

You can find a provisional detailed agenda and practical information on our website where you can also register for some or all of the events, depending on your interest and availability.

As you can see from the programme outline above, on the first day we will celebrate and reward those projects that our evaluators have identified as best practices in Europe and, as such, will receive an EPSA 2019 Best Practice Certificate.

The second day will be devoted to the nominees running for the award in each of the three administrative categories. The project presentations will be made in plenary so that the audience can listen to all nominees’ presentations and be able to appreciate and compare the merits of each nominated project.

In the evening, a festive dinner will bring together all participants and will be the occasion to celebrate the EPSA 2019 edition, which has been yet another rich harvest of creative responses by the public sector across Europe to the challenges facing them.

And the last day is, as usual, the culmination of the EPSA 2019, i.e. the Award Ceremony preceded by keynote speeches, and will take place at the beautiful Provincial Government Building on the Maas.

As Michael Burnett, Project Manager for EPSA 2019, said “I’m looking forward to hearing the 40 winning projects from across #EU and beyond share more with us in the 3 events at @uitMaastricht, @eu_eipa HQ and @limburg”.

We will update you with more news in mid-October when we will announce the list of nominees running for the trophy and give more details of their achievements.
